Capilano Bridge Timelapse

The Capilano Bridge sits off the north end of the Lions Gate bridge in West Vancouver. It is an integral part of the commute from the North Shore to Vancouver for many people everyday. The BC Provincial Government recently decided fund a $40 million project along with the Government of Canada’s $290 mill infrastructure stimulus fund project to refit a new bridge to ease congestion.

The project website is here – Old Capilano Bridge if you’re more interested in whats going on.

Anyways, I don’t care a whole lot about the politics behind the bridge. What was cool are the time-lapses involved when they temporarily moved the old bridge over so they can construct the new bridge in its place.

There are 2 timelapse videos & 1 animation:
One from the West view
One from the East view
Animation of the bridge project

Vancouver in an HD TimeLapse

This stuff kinda reminds me off Ross Ching who created an interesting series of time lapse videos called eclectic. He also created the music video for Little Bribes by Death Cab for Cutie

Anyways, watch here! (click the full-screen video mode since it doesn’t fit properly in the blog page)
